Why challenge a friend to unlock DiRT Showdown multiplayer

Can you believe it. It has been while since I have purchased this game but I am yet to unlock the DiRT Showdown multiplayer. Because there is some sort of requirement to unlock it. You need to challenge a friend that has account in the steam to open the multiplayer mode. What if I don’t have a friend on steam. I suppose I have to beg anyone for this. Wouldn’t it be more simpler if we can unlock the multiplayer mode by just winning single player mode .

I hope this is not the marketing strategy adopted by the codemaster and steam. I am not going to tell my friend to buy this game to help me get through the multimedia mode, and no one will buy this game if they don’t have friend in steam. How is this going to work anyway. What’s the point in challenging a friend.

No need to be disappointed. There is a official DiRT Showdown group on steam website, I think there you will find someone who may be accept the challenge. I even don’t understand what is the reason to this but as far as I know this is not related to Steam.
