Video Card Won't Support DC Universe Online --Help!

Hi, all. New guy here. My son is going to inherit(means I am building a new pc for me) this pc, and wants a video card that will support DC Universe Online. Looking for a cheap one that will definitely support it. This pc has a P4 3.4ghz HT cpu and 2gb Corsair DDR2 RAM. The video card in it right now is a Radeon X850. I'd like him to have something just as good that supports DCUO.

Are you getting the below error message?
"The video card settings on this machine are not compatible with DC Universe Online. Please check the minimum game requirements. Error code: 2002'
If yes then you should install the latest driver for the card and turn everything to maximum by going in to the Nvidia control panel, if you are willing to get other video card then you can check out the below ones:

• GFORCE GT240 1GB DDR3
• GFORCE 9400GT 512MB DDR3

The message I get is "Your graphics card is not capable enough for this game. (VendorID=0x1002, DeviceID=0x4B4B, Name=Radeon X850 Series).

I am willing to buy another card, but since this is an older machine that I am giving to my son(who is only 8) I don't want to spend a lot for it.

In that case can you just let me know the budget that you can spend for the video card so that i can check out for an card accordingly.

Thanks so much, but I just realized I would need an AGP card. My board doesn't have a PCIEx16 slot(it's that old). That's why I am going to build a new pc for myself and give this one to my son. If you can recommend an AGP card, which is probably almost impossible to do now, I am all ears.

The board I have is an Asus P5P800. I can't post url's because I am new.

I just found this! Do you think I could run this on this build?(Again, I can't post url's.)

It's an AMD, but everything in my pc is Intel. But it is AGP.

I just need something so he can play his games with no issues. It's not like this is even going to be my pc any longer since I am trying to piece together a new one right now, which is why I am giving this to me. So I'd rather not spend a LOT. Anyway, instead of the JATON card, what do you think about the VisionTek Radeon HD3450 512 MB AGP 8x Graphics Card 900374? The specs are almost identical. The only difference I see is the Jaton has 2 DVI, the VisionTek has 1 DVI and 1 D-Sub. I don't care about that. And if you think it is good, do you think the VisionTek card would be good enough for DC Universe Online and other online kids games?

Well, if it is just a matter of playing the game DC Universe Online then it is not necessary to go for the Jaton model graphics card, because it will cost more as you have already compared it with VisionTek model video card. In the end, The DC Universe Online game will have no problems while playing it on a computer with HD 3450 graphics card.

The biggest issue is DCUO. He really wants to play that but my video card isn't supported. But there are also some games on CartoonNetwork that look bad and I figured that a new card would help with that. Plus, the card that is in there now(Radeon X850 is really old). Since I am going to build a new pc for myself, I figured why throw this one away, so I'll upgrade it a little for him. Plus, then he won't try to use my new one to play anything.

So any version of the HD 3450 will do?

So have you finally decided the card for the same or you still need some help in choosing?? unidentified has already suggested you some cheap cards that you were looking for.
