Unable to get sound in Alan Wake

As the title of this particular thread is saying what I am looking to ask you over here. Well I recently I have installed Alan Wake on the computer of mine. I played the game for couple of hours and found that there was no sound coming from the speaker at the time of playing. Due to this I am bit disappointed and looking to get possible fix as early as possible.

Make sure that you have installed the speakers properly on the computer and it should not be disconnected. Also you should check the speaker on the other computer and so that you can find out whether speaker is having issue or game itself.

I recommend that you should try to run game by using following command –forcestereo.

• You should load Steam.
• Now you right click on Alan Wake and go for Properties.
• Here you have to set Launch options with –forcestereo command.

I think you will need to reduce the sound acceleration. You have to perform below mentioned steps.

You have to click on Start and go for Run.

You have to enter dxdiag in Run and press enter.

Now choose sound tab and you have to click on Reduce Sound Acceleration.

If above mentioned solution is not working for you then try the following.

1. Click on Control Panel from Start menu.
2. Click on Sound and go for Playback Options tab.
3. You have to select current device which you are using to get the sound. Now select Configure.
4. Finally change the audio channel to ‘Stereo’.

I think there is need of running the game into 44k Stereo settings. If you are having Realtek then perform the following.

You should go for Sound Manager and click on Properties.

Now look for the Advanced Settings. In this particular option you will be able to change the settings.

Do you have installed the latest version of the sound card drivers on your computer? if not then get the latest version of the sound card driver and install the same on your computer.
