How to lower or remove Fog in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I had just installed Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim game on my system. The game is really great. But there is a small issue in it. I want to get rid of Fog in it. This thing is really high and it i s affecting the visibility. I think the problem is with my gpu. Because the game also lags in between. I had seen the temperature which is a bit high at the time of playing game. But it went back to normal after sometime. So just want to know whether this issue occur due to gpu heating.

I think It would be nice to disable particle effects in the game. You can find ample of option for the same in the game video settings. Sometime this kind of problem also caused due to fps thing. You have to change the video settings and updating drivers is enough to fix the issue. You must try that once and test back. I think that would be enough to fix the issue.

you can lower the quality of air particles, it seems like it works for fog, but my game still lags a bit. I used to get about .5-3 FPS in crypts where there was a lot of fog/smoke now i am getting between 10-15 which makes the game playable.

in skyrimprefs.ini go to:
[Particles]
iMaxDesired=50

I think the default is around 500, i set mine to 50 and have noticed an improvement
