What exactly we have to do in Rock of Ages?

I only know it’s some kind of history game, but I don’t know what it’s all about? It really looks a different revolutionary kind of game like Spore, so I would like to know what exactly do we see in this game. Also, when is the game releasing? I would really like a review of the game.

The game got released just recently according to Wikipedia so you'll have to wait to get before we get some reviews about the game But it sure is something unknown and innovative and certainly new to the gaming world. Still, to get the gist of the game, straight from the devs is:
“ Roll a giant boulder over all sorts of things!!!! “ That sounds interesting ain’t it? I would go and buy the game just after hearing it!

It is a strategy game but a very simple one where you have to defend your tower from the rolling boulder, which is similar to the ball mechanics similar to games such as Marble Madness and Super Monkey Ball. You can defend your castle using various defending techniques, the same way your enemy castle is also defended. You just have to use the ball to break all the defences and break the castle. The various obstacles you can use are buildings, mines, dynamites etc. Also, you have to manage funds for these objects by raising money in farms etc. The user controls the motion of the ball and also avoids obstacles. He can add power ups to the ball to make ti more powerful. So sounds like a simple yet fun concept to play with.

Are there any multiplyer modes in the game available? As hearing your description of the game it surely looks like it will make a hell of a multiplayer game, where your opponent can create defences and attack at real time and create defences to block your attack and all. You can set traps and units to stop the boulder and all. So is multiplayer available?

Yes multiplayer options are surely available. One of the mode is War mode where you try to break the castle walls of each other. And other is Skee boulder mode where you just score each other by comparing the boulder run down the walls and hitting the targets like the ski games. You can choose to stay in 'defensive mode' as long as you want. Some players may decide to take a little longer and set up defenses carefully while others can be more aggressive and spend resources on Boulder upgrades. Still, to win a match you'll eventually have to roll down to your opponent's gate.

Also, with the multiplayer it has a story mode with missions and boss fights which you can try out. Here you go through different time periods namely Ancient Greek, Medieval, Renaissance, Rococo and Goya And during each time period the traps and defence setup and powerups for the boulder all change according the innovations related to that period. The game has a story mode which is loosely based on the myth of Sisyphus. The game is also of art from that periods and is mostly in 2D which gives the game a classical feel.

It sure looks interesting. Any news from the devs about further taking down the game? Will der be any major updates to the game and DLC or Expansion for the game which might include other time periods as well along with the existing 5. Will it be free DLCs or paid ones?

Devs have said they would definitely add extra content down the road. We have created the basic builds already, so that later we can release new boulder skins, levels and avatars without writing the codes again and again. We do have some ideas about DLCs, but first they will see how the new game takes up with people and then try building contetnt for DLCs. Don’t know whether they will have free DLCs, but since the game already is not that costly can’t expect the DLCs to be costing much either. And if at all the game becomes popular than promotional DLCs will always be an option with them.

The information given on wiki that release date is 31 august is false. The game has been delayed by a week to 7th September. But due to this delay they have announced some additional content for the game for PC users like the entire soundtrack and a awesome exclusive new boulder for PC users only. Thye have also included a custom boulder for PC which is Troll Face. That does sound awesome.
