No players in shootout for 100 gold in Zynga Poker

It’s really annoying, after waiting for half an hour, no players yet. It’s not working i guess, I hardly find people interested to play against gold or maybe because it has very less money. 100 gold x 9 people = 900 gold and reward only 40M is way too less. Developers need to re-think here, winning amount is almost equivalent the price of gold used to join the game. It’s a big loss to players instead. I hardly find any players in 100 gold tourneys. Even you have to wait for very long in 10 gold tourneys.

100 gold each = 900 gold pot, winner take all and that all is 40,000,000 chips. Doing some math... If you buy gold at it cheapest, it looks like 1 gold is worth about 10 cents in US currency. A 900 gold buy in is about $90 in US currency. So we have $90 in US for the buy in value at their cheapest rates. With that, it is only fair to measure the prize at their cheapest rates as well. 40 million chips are worth about $50 US.

I know this can be the reason people are not interested to play with gold. I have been trying to play with 100 gold for last 2 weeks, but players do not join in, even after waiting for 1 hour or more. I bought 1660 gold few months back and it’s of no use. More than 1300 still idle even after buying permanent gifts for family n friends.

Do not charge OR return back 100 gold or whatever the gold stake is to winner only. But again, the winning prize only can attract serious players to use 100 gold.

I am full of ideas that come from observation of Full Tilt, Stars and other RM sites and what works and does not work in there.

1. Radical increase in prize. 5% rake, maximum, across the board.
2. Rake all the same. Poker players get turned off real quick if a site blatantly penalizes the small stakes players to the benefit of the high stakes player.
3. Encourage rail birding.
4. Give players the option to kill observer chat if they so desire.
5. Allow rail birds to chat among themselves about the hands they are seeing as it plays out.
6. Allow the final two to chop.
