How to invade US/USSR in Tropico 4?

The missions with the invasion of countries like US/USSR are really great and add realism to the game. I would like to have some alternatives for the invasions which would be more interactive and fun to play with. Although the vanilla version is good, we should have 2/3 different ways of invading options so that we can have replayability for the game.

When I played the game one alternative I thought was cool would be a CIA/KGB backed Political Coup. Here we can have opposition as an Insurgent who has won the Government election and the odds are winning are largely favorable for the opposition. You will have more hostile conditions and civil wars and other powers will also be hostile towards you. You will have a constant rebelling insurgents with fundings from USSR and will be real tough to get going in the game.

Hmm, I really liked the original mission. But an alternative I thought would be a Black Ops of US or Spetsnaz of USSR trying to assassinate you instead. So for you to survive you will have to create a large army or get protection in your heavily guarded castle and having a large defense setup for your castle. You will also have be trained in combat skills n other to survive it at all. What do you think about it?

The idea seems nice but I think the invasion is just a small part of the game and adding so many concepts is not necessary. Though I think the rebels should have been more aggressive and should have been backed by the major powers. But, what you said alternatives would really add a dimension to the game. You will have a gameplay to play with where you will have to save yourselves from assassination style attacks instead of a simple invasion. Then, it would add more thrill more difficulty to the game and if we add interactive events to it won’t be a marginal part of game anymore. They should really add diverse gameplay in Tropico4 and make it more interesting than it already is.

Really nice concepts and I too hope there are some changes to the game which would add some gameplay and interactivity rather than the normal naval missions. Maybe they should make a DLC or expansion pack including some divergent storylines that would be really good. Else they could include it on the Tropico5.

Having good relationship with the other powerful neighbors, the concept does not work. The game should have spies in your country no matter how good your relations are. An island that has a nuclear program and a big army will have spies come on to your island. Capturing the spies will be dangerous as many will die but the information can e used to sell, accidental deaths will doubt the other power. Open assassination harm relations and you can try a bribe for your own advantage. As the Tropico series is a kind of parody of the cold war that had espionage as a major role, in Tropico 1 one of the casinos option mention a lot about spies.

A tiny nation like our island cannot stand even a day under US invasion. But having said this It would be nice if there was some strategy to defend the island even if it meant futile in the end. The fighting with the troops who have came to the island on battleships and they fight with us on their way to President’s palace where strong defenses await them. Also, there can be option of surrender at the end if we want the option of not ending and losing all our lives and hard work. And in the time of crisis all the groups in the island will come together as one and we can hire tropicans who would be willing to lay their life for the country.
