How to "age up" town center in Craftsmen Rescue quest in Age of Empires Online

When you start you have 3 Egyptian Spearmen (dark skin) and 5 Egyptian Villagers. All your buildings are Egyptian. You cannot "age up" your town center. Any new buildings you build are Greek. All new villagers and Spearmen are Greek. You can only use Spearmen in the quest as all others require Age 2. You CAN NOT advance your Spearmen as it requires Age 2. You cannot "Double Click" on your Barracks to highlight all Barracks to position all new soldiers in 1 place or produce new soldiers from all Barracks with 1 click as one Barracks is Egyptian and one is Greek.

I can confirm this bug; with that in effect it's impossible to beat the enemies (who are Egyptians). I did make enough age 1 spearman to finally beat the quest, so it is beatable, but the bug is as described above. And these quests (including some of the new ambassador quests) that mix Egyptians and Greek stuff up are all goofy. These need to be revised.

I also thought that it was, but it turns out its just silly design. Your villagers can build a Greet TC and you can Age Up after that at the second TC. You can build a Greek TC, then age up and produce better units. As you don't have a Greek TC you're allowed to build one. Just need the stone and wood. That said, it feels odd to have the quest play out like that, it does need improvement.
