Supreme Ruler Cold War: SR engine will have scripted events

One of the games that BG say is an inspiration has events. I'm starting to wonder whether now the SR engine will have scripted events like the Israeli and vientnam wars. I don’t know about this but I just guess it should, as long as their firing is situational. And I also find one quote about this is: Supreme Ruler: Cold War will allow players to see if they can change history, improve upon it, or succumb to it. Anyone have any more idea for this?

IMO many historical events could have been altered if a few minor actions/decisions were acted on before the fact or more information would have been available to those making decisions at the time which may have broader implications on how things worked eventually worked out. Thing that bothers me about most historical games is that you usually can change or delay an important historical event but events that followed as a direct result of the historically correct event will still take place in those games when in reality if you changed or delayed the original event, the following historically events may not have taken place or may have created new totally unknown historical events.

If France managed to keep control of Vietnam in early 50's, would the U.S. ever be involved in the Vietnam? No U.S. involvement= no draft, no Anti-war movements, no Rambo movies etc. I think each decision made by the player or the AI should throw the game into another alternate reality where anything could happen as a result of those decisions both in the long-term in short-term aspects of the game. Scripted events could then fire off if in the right situations. Maybe the French loses control of Vietnam early in the game or it happens in late 70's or early 80's or never.

I never really paid that close attention to who the dudes were in porno movies, besides; I wasn’t old enough to watch promos during that time frame. I like to see this as well and kind of hope this would include natural disasters that does more than take away stock from the commodities. Destroy a few facilities or level a city by an earthquake or hurricane from time to time. What if they added in events that may have been historical in some other timeline.

Here I just wish to add something in this case. It’s not about having watched, or not, it’s about the self appointed spokesperson for the war being a slob who stayed home and made promos while the war was fought. Disasters that ravaged cities would be great. And yes, things that could have happened if other things had gone differently were where I was going with this. IE -bay of pigs successful. What could have happened after that.

He may have had a medical condition that prevented him from joining the military or some other legitimate reason. If the 1954 coup in Guatemala failed, would they have even planned the "Bay of Pigs" operation? I would think this could consume a lot of development time on BG's part if they did possible alternate historical events for each region and the influences it would have globally as the game progresses.

He moved to Europe at the time, avoiding the draft. First England, then Sweden. Back in the 90's a British magazine made the info public in a story claiming he moved for the purpose of avoiding the draft. Stallone sued them, and won, because they couldn’t prove the reason he moved was directly to avoid the draft. Stallone stand was that it was just a coincidence. That he moved because he wanted to move, and that he escaped the draft as a result was just happenstance.
