I wish I could modify the way steam download games, that is, if I appreciate how things work at this time. • Open the game you want to play, while the download is in progress
• Minimize
• "Pause Updating" then "Continuing update"
• Download will start a backup and can play your game

Have a thought. What if there is an alternative in the properties of steam all games, with two options:

• Pause downloads (s) when running the game.
• Do not download pause (s) when running the game.
