Teori on Divayth Fyr in the Elder Scrolls

Old allmight wizard Divayth Fyr is researching and helping corpus victims, why? As well all know (most of us) Corpus is a disease that turns the victim into a living zombie, and once reached complete corpus their gone and it’s only a Zombie left. But why on earth does then an allmight and powerful Wizard who are capable of creating clones of him using the X-cromosone and implant it as a different gender with other anatomical traits?

When he cured Nenevarine he also tested it on 3-4 others at the same corpus stage, why? It cured Nevevarine of the corpus problems, but he kept the benefits of it: No aging and immune to disease. If it had worked on the others and they would still keep the positive parts he would experiment on with several more corpus victims with the cure to find the exact stage it worked. And the chance of success. Then when the success rate was high enough, he would ask all of his daughters to give him the cure at that exact stage of corpus and then get infected.

Because 4000 year old wizards need a hobby and he says as much in his dialogue. He wasn't researching corpus to learn how he might extend his live. By the time corpus came around he was well past 3000 years old. For the sake of silliness, Fyr could not beat the whole Telvanni council in "one big battle." Power takes many forms, some of which seem to go beyond your understanding. He can take down Gaenor pretty nicely, and last I checked, the other councellors were FAR easier to bump off.

Indeed even though he's one of the mightiest wizards known on Nirn the chances that he would survive with his sanity after a big battle against the Council of Telvanni is rather low. Game mechanics, different weapons. My point was that if that was real life (in their world) battle, Fyr would be dead faster or get whooped badly by that Bosmer trash. Spellcaster rely on spells. Fyr is mortal. Bosmer trash has Reflect. And Reflect kills mortals FAST.

What I mean with Fyr killing the Telvanni council is that he COULD beat them in battle, his knowledge about magic is superior to theirs and his magical is indeed great. But as in all battles, he could lose too. That does make the slightly aggressive assumption that the Telvanni Council would actually unite against Fyr, or at least act in something other than their individual interests (and in the case of Mistress Therana, actually understand that her interests are involved).

Divath needs a hobby. As for the big fight thing, why would he fight them? As long as they leave each other alone to conduct their own business nobody bothers them, really. He uses necromancy and the unfathomable power of a psyjiic to keep himself alive indefinitely. Even after death, he'd probably become a lich and be immortal, if his doesn’t wind up accidentally finding an even better immortality spell. Also maybe the Heart saw it all coming and was grateful.

I don't think it is spiritual in natural. It was certainly magical in nature. I had a theory a while back that a "spiritual corprus" could also infect Daedra. Just imagine Dagoth Ur's potential power if he could have done that. But in 4000 years, no Daedra had been infected. So, I don't think it's spiritual. Those mer actually are mer, there's nothing super special awesome about that; they just haven't died since the Sixth House was supposedly "destroyed." They were probably sorcerers alongside Ur and joined with him in his shadow immortality from the kickoff.
