Does Intel Core 2 Duo e8500 is not enough for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

Hello guys I am using Intel e8500 with the nVIDIA gtx 460, and I am using 4 GB RAM for the windows vista 64 bit. But I heard that Intel Core 2 Duo e8500 is not enough for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Is it true? Game will run typically approximately 30 fps at somewhat below medium settings. However have a propensity to drop into low twenties or yet high teens within towns at every settings. Is this my cpu bottlenecking me? Please help me.

I have not played the game to see how many threads running, but try to put all the higher settings of the cases, except anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering should be turned off, then the resolution as low as possible ( e.g. 800 x 600). If still get bad frame rate then it is probably a bottleneck in the CPU. Maybe this game is pretty good and likes to screw four cores? I know the E8500 still has plenty of grunts per core, especially when overclocked, but it's only dual-core, after all.

I do not think excavator is yet. God knows if it will be more powerful than the SB. You could get a Q9550, but not much more you can get a 2500K i5. Sure would have to pay money for a fresh board; however the CPU Q9xxx is priced out of the market (I believe people are still paying high prices used for them for the reason that they still comprise a reputation as a "monster"). Sandy Bridge is approximating 50% extra powerful than the Core 2, clock on behalf of clock. And subsequent to overclocking that is able to be twice as powerful, and you're receiving a quad core too, so it's educational.

Hello I am running this game on e8400 overclocked to 4 GHz with the 6 GB ram and using the similar card GTX460. My frame rate increase around among 30 and 60 however regularly is approximately the 41 mark. I have approximately the whole thing resting on high, 1920/1080. I turned off SSAO and oversampling similar to one and all articulating. I situate decals by medium (not high and not off). Did you acquire the nVIDIA beta drivers? Did you uninstall the nVIDIA 3D vision things? You possibly will obtain a pleasant boost if you attempt that.

Well, you be supposed to be getting a mATX board within a full ATX size case, no difficulty. I'm confident you can obtain greatly better frame rates (physics and objects, yes I know, things related to the CPU) with an i5 best with a Core2Duo, especially if the game runs more than 2 wires. I've gone from 2500K E8400, Q9550 and the i5 is just fantastic. However, the Core2Duo obviously still enough. And I will support the upgrade of the entire bridge is partly sand caressed me my e-peen, but in reality are two times more powerful than a 3.6 GHz Core2Quad, once I have it at 4.8GHz.
