IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover VRAM Usage - 6970 (2 GB) vs. GTX 580 (1,5 GB) vs. GTX 580 (3 GB)

Hey guys, I am posting this thread over here to know that what is the maximum sum of VRAM CloD utilizes atm if GFX card have sufficient and what will provide the best performance? I will prefer my GTX card consistent with this.

    Does it utilize ...
    • more than 2 GB close to GTX 580 (3 GB)
    • more than 1.5 GB close to Ati 6970 (2 GB)
    • Less than 1.5 GB close to GTX 580 (1,5 GB)

If you wish to find this by yourself then you can download rivatuner and then setup the real time monitoring. If you are in the medium settings spawning and flying approximately a bit has me at around 950-970mb beyond a max of 1024mb. My recommendation is to stay for the subsequent patch previous to purchasing. I don't believe that anybody has observed a max yet (i.e. GPU memory which is not used). I surely don't have it through the 1.5 GB lying on my GTX480.

It does not build some sense for me because I need to play game on elevated to full settings and I am certain that my existing card (GTX 285 1GB). First of all has not sufficient VRAM and secondly does not contain sufficient computing power. It would be enormous if the people who have a 2 GB card might analysis how much of VRAM is utilized on maxed out settings as well as 1920x1080.

With 2x AA I am 980-1gb ram. Though what is further motivating here is the GPU is simply averaging 45-55% consumption. This point to a quite significant CPU controlled access that ought to be somewhat blank up while they resolve multi core hold up. When one core is performing nothing but depiction frames and the additional core is performing all imitation stuff GPU consumption should amplify. You can also try AF settings and that will get a few minutes since you ought to perform that by means of nvidia control panel.

I think that the IO/object handling, network, physics and all are all heading to run on one core as raw rendering and sight setup will be hold through a new core. This should increase premiums and decrease fps stutters like a micro kernel is likely going to handle all cargo to the RAM / disk and the other only produced in series of frames. In fact, I am a bit more optimistic after this round of testing. if multi-core patch does what it should do next, IMO the game will run pretty damn fantastic especially since this patch is likely to follow the patch improved buildings.

I think it's pretty consistent, the use of the GPU does not reveal exactly how much of the GPU is not used, but I bet a lot of overhead, no real representation is part of the question. Of course I'm not trying to imply that I know exactly what is happening with this particular engine, but I think we all agree that the new team must handle much more on cod, so let's see if developers are in control to make the GPU beast and spit a few pixels.
