Cannot play Crysis 2 in SLI or Crossfire

As you might know that the Crysis 2 does not support the SLi profile. But the Nividia and ATI release a patch which makes the game to support the SLI as well as the Crossfire along with the multi GPU configuration. I have downloaded the patch with the intention of to play the game in SLI mode. The PC was capable to run other games in this mode. However when I launch the crysis 2, It didn’t open. Even after the download of patch I didn’t understand what is wrong with this? Can anybody tell me?

The patch might support the SLI for Crysis 2 but not for all the cards or all the platforms. The patch is only meant for their respective products or platforms I think. You need to get pre-defined model cards in order to play the game in SLI mode. Furthermore make sure that you have installed that patch properly. This patch is meant for only predefined profiles, if you are using any other profile then this patch may not be applicable or may not work.

I think that you have downloaded the different patch to your computer. Make sure that you have downloaded the official patch from the official site. There are some cracked versions of patch available on some third party website. If you download that then it might not work properly in your computer. What cards you are using in the gaming rig? If you are using Nvidia based graphics card then you need to download the patch from the Nividia or EVGA official site. On the other hand if you are using the ATI GPU then download the patch from the AMD/ATI website.

As far as I know that the SLI profile support patch is only developed or released for the Crysis 2 Demo version I think. If you have installed the latest or full version of crysis 2 then this patch may not work for you. When I looked into some site there they denote that the SLI update for Crysis 2 Demo. So I think that you can play only the Demo game in SLI or crossfire mode.

It seems to me that after download the SLI support patch for Crysis 2, you will also need the DirectX11 patch for that game. I heard that the SLI and DirectX 11 together make the system completely outstanding. In my case I didn’t go for the update of SLI profile because there it described that the patch is only for the Demo version game which has been released more than 2 weeks before. Now the recent release is a full version and it may support the SLI without any patch I think.

In your case I think that the patch which you have downloaded as a support for SLI profile might not be the proper file for your card or may be for your graphics driver otherwise for your version of Windows operating system. Due to this you cannot play the game in SLI mode. Have you downloaded the patch from the official site? If not then download it again. In the official site along with the patch they have mentioned the driver version. The patch is only applicable for that driver.
