having trouble installing rift again error 1628

ok im literaly pulling my hair out with this problem i have tried numerious suggestions and i need some good advice on this. im running on windows vista home premium. everytime i try to install this i always get 1628 i realy need some help. im using HP pavilion dv6 notebook pc my processor is Intel(r) core (tm)2 duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz @.10 Ghz. my memory/ram is 4.00gb and my system type is 64-bit operating system. idk if that helps but hey rift is worth it

Error 1628 is now very known. It occurs with many games while installation. To fix this you need to rename the InstallShield folder. To do so, follow these simple steps:

• In Windows Explorer or in My Computer, open the following folder: DRIVE \Program Files\Common Files\
• Right-click the Installshield folder, and then click Rename.
• Type InstallShield1, and then press ENTER.
• Try to install the game.

If this dindt worked, try some more other tips mentioned in this Microsoft Article.

ok so when i look in my common files i dont see a installsheild folder anywere so any other suggestions?

Well as said by you that the installshield is missing on your system actually there are installshield drivers and if the drivers for the same is not present then you will automatically not get the installshield files on the system. So what you have to do here is that download a driver and then install the same on your system and then they will automatically help you to get the files visible.
