A thorn finally grew in FrontierVille

After 9 days with no new thorns I got desperate this morning and cleared the upper right corner in hopes of having a clear spawn site. 2 Hour Later I had a new thorn! It grew out in the middle of nothing in the top right corner. It’s nice but main problem is it’s in middle so, can’t do other work here. Anyone’s thorn still grew or not? Please join me with any query you have and please if anyone find any solution for this than please provide your solution.

Here I wish to add something for thorns. It took 4 days after I cleared the same area as you did, to get one thorn. I know have a total of 3! I am just hoping that later than I cleared some other places that more thorns will grow. I am afraid now to clear anything that has grown because I want to make sure some thorns show up. I guess that's why they say kids are a thorn in Zynga’s language. Don't worry; I love my kids and my grandkids.

I am happy to read that people are finding solutions to the thorn problem, but so far none of these ideas has worked for me. I have rearranged my homestead to leave large open areas for the thorns to sprout, but nada. I have replanted trees, nada. I have wildflowers, cacti and grass galore, but can't seem to regenerate thorns no matter which approach I try! Guess my "kid" will be growing up illiterate and I will do no more work on my schoolhouse quest until/if the day arrives I have thorns. I at a standstill say Zynga should put thorn bushes up for sale in the Market since it's the dev's mistake so many of us did what we were initially told to do, clear the land!

After a week of waiting, last night I cleared a little bit of my original forest in the upper right hand corner as others suggested in this in the earlier post. I think I chopped down 5 or 6 trees. This morning in that patch of clear space a thorn was there! Hoping to find another one tomorrow. I am having some serious thorn envy seeing the people who are getting them to grow. My kid needs to clear 4more! I wish the game would have recognized all the thorn bushes we all cleared previously.

Let word go out across the Frontier: it seems you need to clear a huge plot of empty land in order to get thorns, which is crazy when you consider that the hint about thorns is that they grow in deep forest. Exact opposite, no? I put my farm back together and felt a huge sigh of relief. Now I move on to continuing to grow 1600 frickin peanuts, earn half a million dollars (after that earn a million shortly thereafter), raise a billion chickens, bop bunches of critters on the noggin', and chop down forests full of Mother Nature's wonders. But at least that damn thorn challenge is done.

I would cleared all of my thorns not realizing that I would later need them, after reading others experiences in this I moved items out of the recommended area. 4 hours later I have a thorn. Not even up to that mission up till now but I thought I would better start early just in case they took days to grow. I picked up three thorns in this area today alone. I didn't have to clear it out as I had already at one point and have a forest re-growing. This morning, I had one right at the front door of my cabin which is in where the forest starts out. I moved it, come home from work and wow, 3 more thorns where the cabin had been. I am glad I am finally getting somewhere with them, one more to go.
