Battlefield Bad Company 2 White Screen of Death

Right let me run you guys through the processes that i have tried to alleviate the issue so far:

disabled the page file
disabled the onboard sound card
reinstalled dx11 manually
reinstalled graphics drivers (and updated all of the chipset drivers etc)
changed from dx11 to dx10 via config file
changed from dx10 to dx9 via config file
lowered graphics settings in game
I have even underclocked the GPU from factory clock speed as I have experienced the same issue with another PC running an overclocked card

got an error message at some point saying that the gpu driver had stopped responding, so createda new registry entry to allow the gpu 5 seconds of "inactivity" before windows attempts to recover the gpu.

all of the components in the case are very cool (aftermarket coolers on CPU and frozr II cooler on GPU) plus alot of case fans.

system specs are as follows.
intel core 2 quad 2.4
4gb ddr2
nvidia gtx560ti

Any other suggestions would be welcomed !

There is no official solution for this issue. I wish that DICE and EA will do something to solve this. But for the time you can try to use some older version of the driver and see if that is able to solve the issue for you or not. If you feel that it is getting overheated then you can try to turn the speed of the fan to manual and set that to 70% and try Furmark otherwise Kombustor. I hope that this will help you.
