VSync helps in preventing screen scratching. Most of the users do not notice the change and if you are one of them then I would simply suggest you to set VSync to ‘0’ since you will not see a major change in your game play. Vsync do not have any negative performance with the graphic cards. But there are some are some major issue which are associated with the Vsync with the current release of the Black Ops. Simply set it to “0”.
This is a very important settings which must be enabled on your system since this is the minimum requirements of the Black Ops this evidently indicates that you require a Multicore CPU if you want to run this game without any performance issue. I have noticed a major change after setting this to “0”. However I would advise you to change this setting only if all other settings fail.
Enable this setting ony when you are having either more than one graphic card or a graphic card with multiple GPU’s. If you are not aware of Multiple GPU’s then simply set this to “0”.
This will help you to enable the Blur shader effects . This setting will be negligible if you are using a strong shader card. Or simply you can set this to “0”.
This setting will help you to enable the shader effects if you are having a shader card which is strong enough then this setting is negligible. Or simply you can set this to “0”.
This setting will help you to enable the Depth of Field shader effects. if you are having a shader card which is strong enough then this setting is negligible. Or simply you can set this to “0”.
This setting will help you to enable the Glow (HDR) shader effects. if you are having a shader card which is strong enough then this setting will have a negligible impact on performance.I think that this setting is a bug but I noticed a major performance enhance after setting this to “0”.
This is the rate through which a client sends a packet to the server. Setting this very low somewhere below 10000 will definitely worsen the performance since you are not sending sufficient data to the server and hence you should set this above 10000 preferably 50000+ . But cross check this with 20000, 30000 and 40000 since this totally depends on the speed of your server. This setting should be changed as per the connection speed and it will require some fine tuning.
This setting helps you to control the number of packets that your client will receive through packet transmission. If the setting is somewhere below 25 then I think that there is a major threat of being disconnected more frequently. Do not set this too high that is above 150 this will also affect the performance. This is quiet hard to tune but try with a series of values you will find that the setting somewhere near 100 will help you improve the performance of your game.
