Launching Tomb Raider Underworld shuts down pc

Hello all the member of this forum. i am a new member of this forum,my problem was i want to play a game called "TOMB RAIDER UNDERWORLD", i have that game but after the installation process when i am try to play the form the desktop the game will start but when i click the new game notification to start a new game its not not been start and some time letter my pc will shutdown automatically.........please help me out of this problem i want to play that game madly.
some information about my system-

OS- win xp pro sp3

video card- NVEDIA GFORCE LE 6 SERIES

SOUND CARD- creative sound blaster vx

RAM- 2GB

HARD DISK- 160 GB.

Have you tried updating your graphics card driver to the latest? Are you able to play some other games on your pc without any issues as well without the pc crashing or shutting down? Have you checked your cpu temperature while gaming? It might be getting overheated due to intense use of the processor or so. Open up your case and launch the game and check whether it is still shutting down your pc.
