Mafia 2 demo, Error report on start up

I had downloaded the demo of Mafia 2 game. I had checked the system requirement for that and it was quiet acceptable in comparison to my system. The setup worked well without issue and did not cause any error in between. But when I launched the game there is black screen and the game crash. Windows Error reports comes on the top. This has happened several times now.

You can try to run the same under compatibility mode which can make the game to perform well. For that right click on the game icon and then choose properties. Now go to Compatibility tab and then from there choose Windows XP. Reboot your system once and then run the game again. If this does not work then perform the same settings after re-installation.

Windows 7 requires a relatively modern machine running with good hardware configuration. In comparison to Windows Vista, Windows 7 is still quite heavy and on that the game acts as more pressure on the system. So better make sure your hardware meets the minimum requirements required by Windows 7 and for the game also. Try to add some more ram sticks.

The system crash occurs due to various issues. Basically if that is for games then just make sure all the drivers on your system is compatible with Windows 7 and they are updated. You can find the latest drivers for your hardware and install them on Windows 7. A defective or incompatible drivers can cause crash at regular interval of times. Use a fresh setup for that.

Send the error report to Microsoft. In return you will get a update for that. That updates will fix the issue in your system. Or else boot Windows in Safe Mode and remove the game completely. Run CCleaner to wipe out the registry settings. In safe mode, try to remember the last thing you did before the crash occurred. It was an installation of a program. If yes then run system restore.

Make sure there is enough disk space on your computer to the normal operation of Windows 7. If you are running low on disk space, move all your music and photo files (if any) in an external hard drive and uninstall the software required to clarify the space. Try to install the game in a different directory and disable your antivirus software for sometime to run the setup properly.

A registry cleaner will search the entire registry errors and fix them. An additional benefit of this process is that Windows run faster.
