I changed the videoconfig file from 0 0 1920 1080 1 0 0 1 to 0 0 1920 1080 1 0 0 0 also started earlier in the chapter I was in and it was able to save.

I think that it is a problem related when you use the original disk and exe. So you cna try to install game saves from GCW-Mafia II LOAD CHAPTER MOD from tools and a fix. Generally, Mafia 2 never asks for disc, its steams protected game. In any case, glad that you were able to fix the issue without any much trouble.

I suppose whether you download the full 100% mission unlocked save game file from this same thread or even download the chapter 6 save game file, you can start and continue the mission from their and get on with completing the rest of the missions. Actually, there is no mission to mission save game file available anywhere on any site for mafia 2 pc game, as per my research.

I also have looked all over and didn't find any chapter to chapter game save file. I just experimented and found out you could save from some chapter missions and some you can't.

I think that it might be a bug in the game, so try playing the game again from that level again where you have stucked. You can try to lower the graphics settings to medium or low and check whether it solves the issue or not. Have you also tried applying some mafia 2 game patches in your computer, try it and let us know it works or not.

Mafia 2 Chapter 7 when i try to enter a car the game crash closes right away. is there a way to skip chapter 7 and go to 8 does anyone know why is the game crashing only in Chapter 7 at the beginning of 7.

You can find the mafia 2 save game folder location in your C:\Users\"your_user"\AppData\Local\2K Games\Mafia II or C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\2K Games. Here you just need to overwrite the files by downloading it from this same topic.

The save game is located in the C:\Users\yourAccountUserName\AppData\Local\2K Games\Mafia II\Saves in Windows 7 operating system. If you have a steam version then the save game might be in the Steam > Users > Documents folder somewhere. Also the the appdata folder will be hidden so you need to make it unhidden.
