Gears of War installation problem via Games on Demand

Hi all, I have a pc with a very good setup which is as follows:

Asus P5Q deluxe
Nvidia 9800 GTX
Q9550 Processor
Ram 2 Gb

So I have downloaded this game Gears of War via Games on Demand assuming that it will work on my pc very well, but the problem is that the game wont install on my pc. It is always freezing @ 4% setup completion. Is this a problem with the game or my pc?

It seems that the download of the game on your pc was not proper and it might be missing some Cab Files or it could be corrupted. You can try to extract the downloaded file with a tool called winrar and if it is giving some cab errors while extracting then it is a bad download. You need to redownload it again.

If you are getting a error code 80131500 while downloading the game you can try to use the windows update, use the following instructions:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel
2. Double-click Automatic Updates.
3. Click Automatic (recommended).
4. Click to select the day and time that you want to download and install updates, and then click OK.

Yes, I also assume that the data is corrupted, so best you can do for now is delete the game from your hard drive and download it again. If it still fails to read, you will have to contact Microsoft to address the problem. You should be aware that by purchasing the game once, you own the rights to it until you delete the Gamertag you purchased it under.

It is actually a known issue when downloading games from the Games on Demand from microsoft. Due to some server issues or glitch many user who are trying to download the game end up either in a corrupted game package downloaded on their machine or might even get download error code 80131500. Many have succeeded downloading the game file in one try but there are few who have downloaded the game for more than 2 or 3 times.
