why does my ds lite freeze

I have a Nintendo DS Lite and it keeps freezing all the time. This problem recently started, if I start it then it will play fine for 5-10 minutes but after that it completely freezes. Can anyone tell me why does my ds lite freezes? Any answers would be appreciated.

Did you try to restore the DS to factory settings:

1. Remove the battery cover off the back of the unit. (One small Philips screw.)
2. Remove the battery.
3. Leave the system without the battery for 10-15 minutes.
4. Replace the battery.
5. Re-install the battery cover.

Are you playing Sims 2 game cause Sims games in general tend to freeze alot. That's probably it unless you dropped your DS too many times. Does it freeze on other games too or just that one? You can also try to take the game out and blow where you put it in then blow the game cover cause happens to my game boy all the time

Have you bought the game from ebay? I have a friend, he has a DS lite and all his imported games do not work properly on it. He also had a freeze during online play in Clubhouse Games before, but nothing bad came out of it. Must have been lucky! However freezing online could just be the internet connection because i heard that they occasionally freeze.

Simple solution, cut out a piece of very fine sandpaper and fold it in half, long enough to push down into the gameslot and lightly sand the oxides which have built up on the pins. This oxide build up is all the problem is, hindering the connection between the game and the gameslot pins.
