Counter strike 1.6 problem in windows XP

I have installed counter strike 1.6 (cs16FullInstalimi.exe) and after that i have installed the patch (cs16Patch_v26). Counter strike starts and the music plays but when i go to any of the server counter strike stops and it automatically close down.... please help me to resolve the said issue............

This kind of issue is seen when the file that you are using is corrupt or having the illegal format. I thing either you patch is having some corrupt installation file that is why you are getting the error. So i will advise you to reinstall the game with another patch and then run the game. Also check whether you have properly installed the graphic driver for same.
