PS3 Mod Chip

Does anyone have any insight on this? Is the PS3 capable of being cracked by using a Mod Chip? What's the pros and cons?
You probably need a Blu-ray burner right?

Re: PS3 Mod Chip

InFeCtuS is the first versatile modchip that supports all the consoles including the PS3, PS2, Xbox 360 and Wii. All you need to do is flash BIOS by USB. Thus you can install everything as and when you want. All the complications regarding firmware versions would not bother you anymore.
