Land and Water graphics problem in Far Cry

The following is the configuration of the computer which I am using :-
Intel Celeron D processor @ 2.66 GHz
System memory 256 MB,
Onboard 96 MB graphic card
HDD 13B free space,
The operating system on the computer is Windows XP. On this computer I have installed Far cry but I am not able to play the game. The water in the game appears white while the Land appears to be black. The radar which is present on the left hand bottom is also flickering. Is there any solution to this problem? If anybody is facing similar Land and Water graphics problem in Far Cry then please suggest some solution.

Check if the graphics drivers are installed and working on the computer. All the devices which are connected to the computer require a set of drivers to be installed on the computer to work properly. Drivers act as a mediator between the operating system and the device. If the appropriate drivers are not installed then the device will not work properly. To check if the appropriate drivers are installed and working on the computer, right click on my computer and select device manager. Highlight the display adapter and see if there are any caution signs. Follow the troubleshooting procedure and see if the game works. Try and update the drivers if the troubleshooting does not help.

There is some problem with the version of the game which is installed on the computer. There are lot of files associated to the game. If any of the files which is associated to the game, is corrupt or missing then the game will not work properly. To solve such problem, you will have to replace the files which are corrupt or missing. Uninstall the game and remove all the files/keys which are related to the game from the computer. Reboot the computer and then reinstall the game again on the computer.

By looking at the problem it seems like the computer which you are using is not supporting the game. Every application which is installed on the computer has some minimum system requirements. These minimum system requirements are to be met by the computer, in order to run the game properly. Therefore check the minimum system requirements of the game and see if the computer which you are using is meeting all the requirements. If the system requirements are not met by the computer, then the game will not work properly.

The earlier releases of the game had many problems and bugs which were later rectified in the patches which were released later. I dont think that you have installed patches that were released for the game. Go to the official website of the developer and then search for the latest patch that is available for the game. Download the latest patch that is available and then install it on the computer. Once the patch is installed on the computer, you will not face the same problem again.

As you are using the onboard graphic card for playing the game, you will have to change the flipping policy of the graphic chipset. The games like Far cry require that the flipping policy of the graphic card to be changed. To change the flipping policy of the graphic card, right click on the desktop and go to graphic properties. Now Click on Manage 3D settings. Highlight Flipping policy and select Blit instead of Flip. Disable Vertical sync and apply the settings. Now see if the game is working properly or not.
