Just Cause 2 PC Demo Fatal DirectX error

Hello all, I recently downloaded the demo of Just Cause 2 for PC. If I try to install it on my pc it gives me an error called
    Fatal DirectX error!
    Code: 15
    Result: 0x80070057: E_INVALIDARG
The Game will now exit. Try starting with The Game / failsafe if the problem persists.

What did I do wrong, what can i do to play this game. Please help.

I am wondering which version of Operating System have you installed? If you are trying to run it on Windows XP then let me tell you that Just Cause 2 cannot be played on it cause it requires Directx 10 or later versions to be played. So you will either have to install an Operating System that supports Directx 10 or later versions like the Windows 7 or Windows Vista OS'es.

Can you let us know what is your graphic card? I think you need to disable DirectX 10 overlays and everything related to it like for example Steam Community, Xfire Ingame, Logitech G13/15 drivers or you will have to install 3D drivers like IZ3D drivers, if you can get one. Try to press the Windows key along with the R button key and then type DXDIAG and press enter. From here you will know what is hardware config, directx version and all other related stuffs.

Re: Just Cause 2 PC Demo Fatal DirectX error

I suppose your graphic card is onboard something like Mobile intel chipset graphic. If that is the case then you wont be able to play Just Cause 2 because this game might not support your graphic. Even if it does by some tweaking you will get to much lagging while gameplay and your computer might also overheat. So it is better that first you buy yourself some good graphics card and then start playing this game. Hope that helps.

Have you tried checking if there is any update needed for DirectX. I will suggest you to re-install DirectX. Also Have you tried re-installing the game? I had a similar error with SIMS III and reinstalling the game worked well for me. Also have you checked whether or not your graphic card supports DirectX control.

Yes i have reinstalled both directx and the game but still the same error message comes up, i have been searching the internet for hours but i dont think the demo will work without me buying the whole game on disk or somthing.
and yes my graphics card does support directx, as i said it is a gaming laptop. which means it should be designed to play games like just cause 2, i think it is the demo not the laptop, but then why would other ppls work?...i dont know realy, im open to any suggestions.

Re: Just Cause 2 PC Demo Fatal DirectX error

As per your problem it seems that your DirectX is not supporting the game it is not updating due to some reason might be Virus is causing the issue. So it is better to run the computer for the virus with the latest definition of the anti virus and see whether you found one. Also check out the below given link which might help you.

I am afraid that you have listed your processor specs instead of graphic card specs?
In any case, download a software called everest which will tell you the full specifications of your computer build, after that just copy and paste you computer specs here.
