System Shock 2 game freezes

Hello. I have a desktop machine and it is been installed with Windows 7 operating system. I have a game application that is System Shock 2 installed to the system. The problem is that the application is not able to function well. It freezes when been executed. Please help me out as I have no idea what is wrong. It would be a great help in sorting the issue.
