The problem that you cannot play X3: Terran Conflict in Windows 7 can be considered due to the incompatibility issue of the game with the operating system. But, it is also possible that the setup of the game must be having some error or problem because of which the game was not installed in the game as properly as it should have been. So, all the required files may not have been installed, that is some of them must be corrupted.

I suppose that there has been some installation error because of which you cannot play X3: Terran Conflict in Windows 7. So, I will advice you to remove the currently installed games and reinstall the game. You have to make sure that all the applications and programs that are running in the background of the installation process must be quit. Such background applications and programs are the reason for the installation errors.

According to me, you cannot play X3: Terran Conflict in Windows 7 because there is an incompatibility problem with the game and the operating system. This is why it is recommended that another operating system like Windows XP or Windows Vista must be installed in another drive in your computer, thus making it a dual boot system. With this method, you can start in the other operating system to get rid of the incompatibility issue.

Have you tried forcing the game to run in the system to solve the issue that you cannot play X3: Terran Conflict in Windows 7. Use the option of "run as administrator" to force any application, program or game to run in the system. It is possible that the operating system may be blocking the game from loading. I am using this option for all such issues that I am facing in my system with Windows 7 and it has also proved successful to me many a times.
