Screen turns Purple while playing games

I really need your help in this issue. I have recently bought a new computer which is powered by Intel Quad core processor. The computer has a Nvidia graphic card installed and has about 1gb of RAM. The operating system on the computer is Windows 7. The problem is I am not able to play game on my computer. Screen turns Purple while playing games. This happens while playing games like Fallout 3, Counter Strike Source etc. Once the screen turns purple, I have no other option than to forcefully shutdown the computer. If anybody knows how to solve this problem then please suggest some solutions.

The computers which are powered by multicore processors are not typically meant for gaming. Multicore processors have more than one CPU. When any application is started on the computer, all the processors start processing the application together which can create problems while running gaming application. You will have to disable all the extra cores while playing the game. To disable the extra cores of the processor, start the game and then open the task manager. Go to processes tab and then right click on the process of the game and select Set affinity. Remove check marks from all the extra CPU's and then click on OK. Now resume the game and see if the problem continues.

Windows 7 does not support all the games which are supported by the Windows XP operating system. If the game is not supported by the operating system, then the game will either not run at all or will give some errors while running. The list of the games which are supported by the Windows 7 operating system is available on the official website of Microsoft. Check the list and see if the game which you trying to run are supported by the operating system or not. If the games are not supported by the operating system then there is nothing much you can do about it,

Check if the display drivers are installed and working properly on your computer. Every device which is connected to the computer, requires a set of drivers to be installed on the computer so that the device works properly. If the appropriate drivers for the device are not installed on the computer then the device will not work properly. To check if the drivers for the display adapter are installed and working properly on the computer, go to device manager and highlight the display adapter. If there are any caution signs then follow the troubleshooting procedure and then see if the games are working properly or not. If the troubleshooting does not help then you will have to update the drivers.

The system RAM of your computer is too low to run Windows 7 and gaming application together. The minimum requirement of Windows 7 is 1gb of RAM. Also the gaming applications require more memory allocation while running. Therefore 1gb of RAM will create problems while running the game as during running the game there wont be enough memory left for running the basic processes of the operating system which is the reason why your system gets stuck. Try and upgrade the RAM of the system and then see if you are able to play the game or not.

I think the configuration of the graphic card is conflicting with the graphic settings of the game due to which you are facing such a problem. All the Nvidia graphic cards are preconfigured to run high end graphics editing software's. These settings sometimes conflict with the graphics settings of the game. Try reconfiguring the graphic card and see if it works. Open the graphic properties and click on Manage 3D settings. Disable the following features of the graphic card :-
    1. Triple Buffering
    2. Vertical sync
    3. Anistropic filtering
Once all the following features are disabled, see if the games work properly or not.
