Left 4 Dead 2 game not executing

Hello. I have a desktop machine and it is been installed with Windows 7 as the operating system. I have installed Life 4 dead 2 game and the problem is that the game is not able to work out well. The game is not able to execute and then closes down. I do not know what could be the problems. Please hlep me out so that i can work out with the game then. Thank you.
