Card game error - reinstall java

Hello
I try to play a card game on the internet but the game does not appear, I was told to reinstall java. Every day , I restart the computer and always the same error and the games is not started. Can any one help me resolving this problem. Any help will be appreciated. I have installed java for at-least now 2-3 times, that too, every time a fresh copy of it.

Even I have a similar kind of problem. I think it is actually missing sun-java6-plugin but when I clicked to install I have this message

"sun-java6-plugin:
"Depends: sun-java6-bin (= 6-15-1) but 6-16-0 ubuntu 1.9.04 must be installed"

But sun-java6-bin 6-16-0obuntu1.9.04 that is already installed with jre. I have ubuntu 9.10, so can any one help with this problem. Thank you.

It would suffice to remove sun-java6-bin and sun-java6-jre before reinstall, to have it all with the same version.
Edit: actually on packages.ubuntu.com options provide:

- jaunty : 6-13-1
- jaunty-update : 6-16-1
- karmic : 6-15-1

And nothing in karmic-updates. So turn the jaunty versions and then install the version of karmic (must still explain why they did not renew the 6-16-1)

sudo dpkg-r sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre

And then the install should be done without problem.

I am restricted when I go into the synaptic package manager. I have this message

"E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg - configure-a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache-> open () failed, please report. "

I'm going into the terminal I do 'sudo dpkg - configure-a' I'm back in the package manager to uninstall java jre and-bin and got the same message. What must be done to resolve this problem. Thanks in advance.

I think you should try the following code from the terminal as a root user

sudo dpkg-r sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre

Says dependency problem, removal needed

dpkg: dependency problems prevent removal of sun-java6-bin:
sun-java6-jre depends on sun-java6-bin (= 6-16-0ubuntu1.9.04) | ia32-sun-java6-bin (= 6-16-0ubuntu1.9.04)

The package sun-java6-bin should be deleted.

Package ia32-sun-java6-bin is not installed.
dpkg: error processing sun-java6-bin (- remove):
dependency problems - removal ignored
Errors were encountered while processing:
sun-java6-jre
sun-java6-bin

As I do not know much, what must be done. Thank you
