Windows unexpectedly restarts after starting Flight Simulator 3

    Hi,

I have recently installed Flight Simulator 3 on my windows vista computer. I am able to get to the initial screen to start a new game but when it goes to load the first level the computer reboots. So I want to know Why Windows unexpectedly restarts after starting Flight Simulator 3 ??? What may be the problem ??

Windows unexpectedly restarts this may be due to the hardware malfunction or software may generate a Stop error message or an unexpected restart the computer. Games are programs that rely on the hardware and drivers installed on your computer. If any of these devices is not working properly, Windows displays an error message and ends the game. It may appear that the game generated the error message, but Windows informs you of the crash. So first check the compactability of your hardware.

I think, the problem is due to drivers, so you need to obtain the latest drivers from the hardware device (the drivers for your video card and sound) and the latest version of the system BIOS. Also, install the latest antivirus signature updates and scan the system for viruses.

You should disable the automatic restart option to view the details of the error message. To disable the Automatically Restart option, follow these steps according to the operating system you are running.

    1. Click the Start Control Panel, System and Maintenance, and System.
    2. Click Advanced System Settings.
    3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or click Allow.
    4. Click the Advanced tab, then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
    5. Under System failure, uncheck the Automatically restart check box.
    6. Click OK and then click OK again.
    7. Try to reproduce the error message.

Have you tried repairing windows vista. If a machine malfunctions or if a program or game you install newer drivers are required than the drivers currently installed, use Windows Update to search for updated drivers. You can also have Windows Update automatically checks for updates for drivers are recommended.

This may be due to graphics issues, if you are unable to enumerate DirectDraw devices installed on this system. To resolve this problem, check or enable Direct3D acceleration: Click Start, click Run, type dxdiag, and then click OK. On the View tab, verify that all DirectX features are enabled. If one of them is disabled, click Enable next to the feature.
