Metal Gear Solid creating problem

I bought this Metal Gear Solid computer version game last week. I installed it and when i try to run it, an error comes up saying there is some problem with the current mode and it asks me to switch to software mode. And then after I click on OK it just closes down without doing anything. It is really creating big problem. I am using Win XP. Please help.

You have to try and install the game again and while installing select from ini. or pref. in setup. After completing installation right click on the game icon and then select the compatibility mode and change it to win 98. This should resolve the problem and if you have a option of selecting the compatibility mode to win 95 then change to Windows 95 as it is a old game.

Check for the fixes which are out on internet by Nvidia and ATI. This patches are for shaders as the game is pretty old and was out for older graphic cards. So search for this ATI fix and you will get appropriate patches for the same which should solve your issue without any problem.
