MGS4 loading problem on PS3

I had installed Windows Vista on my pc. Just few day back i had tried to load MGS4 on my ps3. I got nothing but a black screen when I select the disc. Then when I try to quit game, the ps3 resets itself and reboots. Any one knows why i'm facing MGS4 loading problem on PS3? Any one knows about it? Kindly help me out to resolve the above issue. Thanks.

When I press "start" I don't see the "load game" option. Just save game and some other stuff. Your best bet is to try it on another console, and if it works call Sony and get yourself a new ps3. Since you already got a new game, i doubt it's the disc.

Same thing happened to me, but that was on my first play through & it didn't freeze, i beat it three times & it's A-OK. There was nothing wrong with my PS3 or any of my saves i guess on some of the early releases of MGS4 the online mode was glitched. i hope this helps other people with the same problem.

If MGS4 works for you, great I am happy for you. But if you are going through the same problem I suggest you, to visit the official Sony website to resolve your problem. I just solved the problem, it seems that it was the firmware version. MGS4 worked fine with firmware 2.20 (the MGS4 disc upgraded my PS3 to 2.20 when I first installed it. But it seems that the problem appeared when I manually upgraded to 2.36 (about 2-3 days ago). Now I have just upgraded again to 2.41 and MGS4 is working fine again.
