Gears of War exits unexpectedly on Vista

I have to computers at my home, one is Windows Xp and another is Vista. I use to play Microsoft Gears of War on XP since long time, without any errors or problem. But now when i am trying to play the same on my Windows Vista computer, it exits unexpectedly. Some times it also gives me error stating "Gears of War has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Do yo guys have any idea regarding this crash and error of Microsoft Gears of War ? Please let me know if there is some system requirement's problem as well. Help appreciated.

First of all make sure that your system meets the needed system requirements by Gears of War. Here it is :-

1. Microsoft Windows Vista
2. PC with 2.4+ GHz Intel, 2.0+ GHz AMD
3. 1 GB of system RAM
4. 12 GB available hard disk space
5. NVIDIA GeForce 6600+, ATI X700+
6. Sound card, speakers or headphones required for audio
7. Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

If your system has all these things and still the problem exists than, use Games Explorer to start Gears of War. To do so just click Start, click All Programs, click Games, and then click Games Explorer.Right-click Gears of War, and then click Play. You are done.

I'll suggest you to use the “Run as Administrator” option to play the game. I guess this could help you. To use this option:-

Start Windows Explorer, and then locate the following folder:

Drive\Program Files\Microsoft Game\Gears of War\Binaries

Right-click Startup.exe, and then click Run as Administrator.
Click Properties.
On the Compatibility tab, click to select the Run this program as an administrator check box, and then click OK.
Double-click the Startup.exe file to start Gears of War.

Even i am a Windows Vista user and use to play the Gears of War on the same machine without any problem. I'll suggest you to download and install the most recent version of DirectX and also change the compatibility setting. If possible obtain the latest Gears of War update from the Microsoft's website.
