Xbox 360 screen turns black while playing games

I don't know whats went wrong with my Xbox gaming console. There was no issue with it from the last two months but from yesterday whenever i am trying to play any of the game, first of all the game is taking much time to start and as soon as it starts the screen goes black. It is connected with a HD TV. Could you guys let me know whats wrong and how to fix it..? Thanks in advance.

Typically, you experience this problem if the audio/video (AV) cable is not connected correctly, or if the AV cable is faulty. Make sure that your television is set to the correct input for your Xbox 360 console. If suspect that your television may not be configured correctly, check your television’s manual to see how to configure the video inputs, or try to use the Xbox 360 console on a different television.

If you experience a black screen only when playing movies over an HDMI connection, your TV or display monitor may not support High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). If your HDMI port does not support HDCP, you may hear sound but not see any picture when you play movies

Many users face this problem when they try to play an Xbox 360 game and the console is set to PAL 50 Hz. Some games may not support PAL 50 Hz. To fix this problem you need to set your 360 console to PAL 60 Hz. TO do so, just follow these steps:-

    • Turn off the Xbox 360 console.
    • Find the HDTV switch on the AV Connector, and then set the switch to TV.
    • Turn on the Xbox 360 console.
    • In the Xbox Dashboard, select System, and then press the A button.
    • Select Console Settings, and then press the A button.
    • Select Display, and then press the A button.
    • Select PAL settings, and then press the A button.
    • Select PAL-60, and then press the A button.
    • When you are prompted to keep these new settings, confirm the settings, and then press the A button.
    • Turn off the Xbox 360 console.
    • Set the HDTV switch on the AV Connector to HDTV.

Re: Xbox 360 screen turns black while playing games

This problem may occur with or without a game disc in the disc tray. Your Xbox 360 console appears to be on because the green power light is illuminated. Examine the Ring of Light. If four red lights flash on the Ring of Light, the AV cable may not be connected to your Xbox 360 console correctly. Disconnect the cable, reconnect the cable, and then start your Xbox 360 console again.

Turn off your Xbox 360 console, wait 10 seconds, and then turn on your console again without a disc in the disc tray. If this resolves the problem, try another game.
