Installation of this game is not supported

Hi,

I have two computers (all beyond the specifications of Zoo Tycoon Marine Mania), and despite that, Marine Mania refuses to install on them, saying: "The installation of this game is not compatible with the operating system. I am running Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. My laptop (which is slower, but runs with a 32-bit edition of XP Pro) it runs well. Does anyone have idea, why Installation of this game is not supported to 64 bit operating system.

It appears to be a universal problem with the installer. It only happens with Marine Mania, no other expansions. I transferred my x64 Marine Mania by using a commercial computer program (Laplink PCmover) to transfer the already installed application from my laptop. Now it works fine, so I do not know for a fact Marine Mania XP can run on an x64 computer, just the installer falsely concludes that x64 is an inapropriate OS when in actuality it works perfect post-install.

The standard installer should work with x64 (just like the other expansions), afterall, these are both Microsoft products. Clearly a patch or something to that extent is needed. I hope Microsoft sees this issue and resolves it quickly.

To install Marine Mania on a 64-bit operating system, you must use the new installer file from the Zoo Tycoon Web site. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Create a new folder on the desktop, and then name the folder Marine Mania Setup.
2. Insert the Marine Mania Setup disc in the CD drive or in the DVD drive.
3. Open the Marine Mania Setup disc in Windows Explorer.
4. On the Edit menu, click Select All.
5. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
6. Open the Marine Mania Setup folder.
7. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
8. Delete the 00002.tmp file.
9. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Text document.
10. Type 00002.tmp as the file name.
11. Download the "Zoo Tycoon 2 - Marine Mania.msi" file to the Marine Mania Setup folder.
12. In the Marine Mania Setup folder, double-click Setup.exe, and then follow the instructions to install Marine Mania.
