Family Settings allow you to regulate the games your kids enjoy as well as their Xbox LIVE interactions. Family Settings are customizable tools that help you create a family-friendly gaming and entertainment experience.Family Settings let you:-
    • Decide what your kids can play, both online and off.
    • Set levels of protection for games, videos, and Xbox LIVE.
    • Use a pass code to protect your own Family Settings.
    • Set limits on console play time using the Family Timer.

You can decide who can see your child's gamer profile by setting your child's profile sharing options for Xbox LIVE. To do this, just follow this few simple steps:-

    • Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.

    • Select Family Settings, Xbox LIVE Controls.

    • Sign in using the e-mail address and password that you used when you set up your child's Xbox LIVE account.

    • Select Privacy and Friends, Profile Sharing.

    • Select Everyone, Friends Only, or Blocked.

Re: How to configure family settings in Xbox 360

Once you determine Family Settings for your console, these settings come into play whenever the console is turned on. Console Controls help parents keep an eye on not only games but also movies and online access. To see these settings, go to My Xbox, open System Settings, and select Family Settings, Console Controls.

You can also manage who your child can communicate with on Xbox LIVE using voice and text. Communication on Xbox LIVE includes chat, messages, and game invites. In order to do this you need to configure your child's communications settings for Xbox LIVE:-

    1. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
    2. Select Family Settings, Xbox LIVE Controls.
    3. Enter the e-mail address and password that you used when you set up your child's Xbox LIVE account.
    4. Select Privacy and Friends, Voice and Text.
    5. Select Allowed, Friends Only, or Blocked.
