i am new to this forum and dont know much about this forum
i am not used to this forum
i have a problem ....so somebody please help me

i have downloaded a new game called F.E.AR.
The exe file has version 1.0.0.0.

when i double click the exe and try to install i get an error message

" setup has detected that ActiveMARK-protected versionof FEAR is not installed on this machine"

please someone guide me and tell me the entire procedure in brief how to tackle it

Well can you tell us how you got the game? If you have downloaded the game there must be some problem with the download or file must be corrupted. It is always recommended that you buy the games & not download from websites. Also let us know your system configuration.

Have you downloaded the full version of game or just patch? as i searched the error you getting is , people getting this error for downloaded fear patch. It happens when patch can't find the right exe file for patching.

the exe file size is 809 MB
so i think it is not a patch.

The game cant be of 809 MB, you have downloaded 1.08 patch .the orignal game must be around 2 gb or more . now days we wont get 700 mb movie also there are now 1gb. Sorry buddy but you have wasted your time downloading a patch .Next time read what you download .
