Medieval Total War - Downloaded, but having problems? - Help?

I have downloaded Medieval Total War ad the expansio pack "Medieval Total War , Viking Invasion" with no problems.
I click the shortcut to run the game, it starts.
From it takes me to the games menus, Single player, Multiplayer, Campaign Tutorial, Battle Tutorial, etc.
    I click on Single Player.
    Choose my Faction/Difficulty, etc.
I click "Begin Campaign" and it takes me to the loadig screen, you know the one where the red bar has to fill up, and after full it should take you to the game.
    The red bar fills.
The screen then flickers from my desktop, to the game, to the desktop.
A message comes up saying "Medieval Total War has stopped working, Windows is trying to find a solution. It then says no solution can be found, and you have to click the option "Close program". Obviously the game closes, and i'm back at square one on my desktop again.

What can I do, It's really peeing me off. I have attempted to un-install both Viking Invasion and Medieval Total War and install again, but same thing happens.
Oh, also as you click the shortcut to run the game it flickers, ad before it reaches the games menus it flickers from the desktop to the game. Please help, It's very annoying - I just want to play!

What is your system specification ? Try some earlier drivers. This could also be a case of overheating. Have you monitored your cards temperatures, if any?

Open the case and see if any motherboard capacitors are domed or leaking.

Also, you may need to supply a complete inventory and power supply rating.
