Diablo 2 Compatibility issues

I just bought xp computer and i just loaded diablo 2, everything is fine until I start the game but after starting game it showing Compatibility issue, game freezes. Is there any patch to make it compatible with Win XP. Can any one tell me how to solve diablo 2 compatability issues?

To solve Diablo 2 Compatibility issues update your drivers, Another way to solve the problem is right click the diablo icon. Click properties and click the tab that says Compatibility. Go down and switch your windows setting in Windows XP.
