Re: Half life 2 monsters, Enemies list

    Aliens
The quintessential Half-Life enemy makes its return. Looking for their next victim, head crabs will jump at any potential host. They often prove irritating by jumping out from dark places and can now become separated from their hosts in certain circumstances.

    Fast Headcrabs

Like all other headcrabs, fast headcrabs can latch onto a human's head and take control of their nervous system, creating a mindless 'zombie' that submits to the will of the headcrab. Fast zombies have a number of key differences to standard zombies, including increased speed and agility.

    Poison Headcrabs

The Poison Headcrab can be identified by its dark colored skin (sometimes with a wet sheen) and thick hairs on the joints of its inward bending, spider-like legs. On the Poison Headcrab's legs are white bands that encircle the knee joints and the creature's dorsal markings are similar to those of a species of orb-weaving spider.

    Barnacles

Barnacles are Xen wildlife seen in all Half-Life games to date. Their basic characteristics are their brown (red in Half-Life and its expansions) hue and long tongue. Barnacles will attempt to eat everything that touches their tongue, that appears to be sticky, and chew at it - if the object is edible, that is, alive, the Barnacle will devour it and eat the body completely. If the object is dead or inanimate the barnacle spits it out, often to pick it up and taste it again.

    Zombies

When head crabs claim a victim, they turn their hosts into a walking zombie. Their sluggishness and lack of ranged attack makes them more of a nuisance than a potent threat. They are quite tough, and can continue to fight when cut in half.

    Zombie Torsos

Fast Zombie torsos can survive when separated from the legs. The only difference is that Fast Zombie torsos crawl and attack faster.

    Fast Zombies

Fast headcrab zombies can run at great speeds and have the unique ability to jump and rapidly climb rain gutters. They also move on all four limbs, but stand on two legs when attacking a victim. Fast zombies betray their presence with several vocalizations. While running along the rooftops they emit an echoing wail; while running they give a frenzied growling; as they jump into attack an enemy they release ear-piercing scream; and when injured they freeze and groan loudly

    Poison Zombies

A Poison Zombie is a human host under the control of a Poison Headcrab. The mutations that take place produce a bloated, slow-moving zombie that is capable of carrying additional Poison Headcrabs.

    Leeches

Leeches appear as small, fish-like creatures that seem to be based on the terrestrial medicinal leeches. They are usually white in color.

    Icthyosaur

The Ichthyosaur, Latin name Xenotherus Icthycanthus, is one of the many alien species that have been teleported to Earth from the borderworld Xen. Prominently featured in Half-Life and its episodes, it has a small cameo at the start of Half-Life 2.

    Ant Lions

Antlions are a family of insects in the order Neuroptera with the scientific name Myrmeleontidae (sometimes misspelled as "Myrmeleonidae"); the most well-known genus is Myrmeleo. There are about 2,000 species. Strictly speaking, the term "antlion" applies to the larval form of the members of this family, but while several languages have their own terms for the adult, there is no widely used word for them in English.

    Ant Lion Guards

Antlion Guards resemble a larger, more armored version of the standard Antlion, the most important and different feature being its large, armored nose. Guards also have a more reddish-tan tint than standard Antlions.

    Combine

These robotic, flying saws live up to their name sake: their one purpose is to carve up the Combine's enemies. Oh right, that's you. Their ability to fly means they can easily follow you between floors and up lifts.
