Dark messiah for windows vista , mm.exe has stopped working

I have Windows Vista 32-bit version and Recently installed Dark Messiah. After the introduction came the message: "mm.exe has stopped working". I dont think it would be memory issue as i have 2 GB of DDR2 memory it should be sufficient ... I really do not know how to solve the problem, I tried to reinstall and also search for driver for the graphics card but nothing happens, the game still does not work. If someone could help me on that, it would be very nice.

Have You verified the integrity of the cache, Have you have installed the patch on the game ? it is common known that vista and dark messiah does not work you must emphasize on Windows xp platform on which you have the best performance with the game (and certainly not crashes) It appears that the Vista doesn't like the way the multiplayer component closes the single-player executable and launches a new application via the Steam system. To get the multiplayer component to work, you have to launch it from the Start menu the way you would under Windows XP. That will fire off Steam and let you log in and play Dark Messiah online. That particular kludge aside, the game appears to run and perform quite well.

Just add this command line :+ mat_forcemanagedtextureintohardware 0

just after your executable path in the desktop icon
- Right-click the shortcut of the game
- Properties, shortcut tab
- Then on the TARGET line add this :
"D:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Dark Messiah of Might and Magic\Dark Messiah of Might and Magic\mm.exe" + mat_forcemanagedtextureintohardware 0
