How to start games windowed mode

I want to know how to start DirectX 10 games in windowed mode? Is there any way to force games to run in window mode so that i can tab out to others things simultaneously . If some know how to do this please show me the way. Right now games running on 800x600 screen resolution . Please help.

No its not possible for all games. Only for those games who includes this feature in their option list. By the way for which games you are asking? Until you'll say the name of the game its not possible to give you possible details.

Start the game and press Alt + Enter to change from windowed/full screen.

All games can be run in windowed mode.

Well do the following, its always works for me:

First right click on the game shortcut and go to properties. And in the Target field add: -window at the end. Now click ok.

Now enjoy games in windowed mode.. In case you decide to switch to full screen mode go and remove the -window from the target field.

Not only -window , You can use -w or -window or maybe -windowed command parameters.
