Mass Effect Insanity Mode

I have been Playing Mass Effect since a long time. But i am playing it on Normal Mode. How do play Mass Effect Insanity Mode? I don't have any option other then Normal and Veteran Mode. I was just told by my friend that he started the Insanity mode... Help!!

Well you cannot play Mass effect in Insanity mode unless you complete it in Hardcore mode. So complete the hardcore mode first then Insanity mode will be unlocked.

By default there are only two modes unlocked, Normal mode and Veteran Mode, Once you finish any of those modes, hardcore mode will be unlocked. And once you finish Hardcore mode, Insanity mode will be unlocked... All the best...
