How do i evolve my haunter in pokemon platinum

I have caught a haunter in pokemon platinum .Know i want to evolve it . can some one give me tips or and code to evole it ,, thanks for the information .

Trading is the only way to evolve haunter or catch Gengar at Old Chateau Red-eye Room .

You can evolve your Haunter after trading him to a friend over WiFI and after it will get started evolve . .

I think wifi will not be that important you just trade it to your friend that has Diamond or Pearl version and trade back so you have you Gengar

You can also catch a gengar in the old chateau. But frst you should have a nintendo DS pokemon fire red,ruby, saphire, emerald or pokemon leaf green .
Here is the direction just climb the stairs and know go through the door directly in the middle you will find a room with a frame on the wall . there you will find gengar it is much easier then trading
