    Dead Rising 2 (Preview)

DEAD RISING 2: alone against all!

Dead Rising 2 was perhaps the most under putting in honor of the new mantra of Capcom. In the presence of the Japanese creator, Daniel Brady, president of Blue Castle Games - the studio responsible for development - had made the trip from Vancouver. Two men with their own responsibility in the production of this sequel, as an incarnation of this new division of labor advocated by Capcom. Collaboration or vertical distribution of work?

It seems that some players have found the first Dead Rising something like a fundamental essence of Japan. Understand is that despite the efforts of teams Keiji Inafune for pandering to Western tastes, there are still some had to find it still "very Japanese". Should we see is a reproach? That is what seems to have understood Keiji Inafune at first before their minds: what was the strength of the first Dead Rising was just this small grain madness nonbreaking, this accumulation of "little things" that gave the charm to this production thought to the West.

In an effort to improve again this alchemy, Capcom has made the choice to involve a third studio, Blue Castle Games, while giving the game design Inafune and his team. While the development of the game will be the hard in Vancouver, while some Japanese will widen the lead to several thousand kilometers away. It must be that so-called globalization of the production chain.

"Chuck Greene, the hero of the second component is not in Las Vegas to waste the wage of the household"

Soon, Mr. Inafune has therefore ceded the floor to Daniel Brady, because after all, it is mainly his teams have their hands in the code. Xbox 360 in hand, the nice guy we then projected in the heart of Las Vegas, or at least related to a city. Artery lined with casinos, bars and nightclubs, full of melodies Diabless these electronic machines slot. In short, the city of vice and its illuminations . But Chuck Greene, the hero of the second component, is not there to waste the wage of the household. A reception commit even more voracious than the attractions of the city occupies the horizon: an army of zombies eructant the froth on his lips and approaching the meter by meter.

According to Daniel Brady, not less than 1000 zombies are then displayed on the screen. Remember that the first Dead Rising for displaying its "only" 500 zombies in the same area. So go for a load rageuse in the ranks of this army rotten. Firstly, the carcasses are ambulates rather diverse, although it is still common to cross the same two models side by side. A small detour to a room casino opened on the street and our character can equip a weapon improvised: bat, chair, wheel, guitar, mask caribou (woohoo!), Sword, mines, two chainsaws set the ends of a stick, a bucket motorized grinding the victim's head and so on. A small sample of the range which can count on Chuck.

"Daniel Brady increases the number of zombies up to 3000 people filling the horizon"

A small demonstration of some of them we had been offered. The handling of the sword and double chainsaw was such an opportunity to discover a localization of damage more precise: decapitation, dismemberment and even vertical dissection of the cadaver. Mention special helmet caribou whose solid woods can make a pretty carnage. But it is time to do more. Daniel Brady increases the number of zombies to 3000 individuals darkening horizon. And to show us that this is not that of which he is stuck runs headlong into the fray at the handlebars of a motorcycle. At the price of a small drop in frame-rate, our demonstrator likes to put us in full view. Zombies marched at full speed and hover at the slightest shock.

As such, we felt physically yet extravagant. the dead did not seem to weigh more than a few kilos. As to attract the attention of the audience, it seems that all interactions between Chuck and his environment have been deliberately exaggerated. We indeed believe in the brief incursion of our heroes in a casino where the slightest touch undermined chairs, plants, lights and slot machines. However, we can reasonably expect that all this should be corrected.

"7000 individuals. 14 times more creatures in the first episode. A horde of bodies with a density as Chuck is literally submerged "

Finally, it was not until the last moments of this technical demonstration to see the true potential of the engine used for Dead Rising 2. On the one handling the new pad, Daniel Brady explodes when the number of zombies: 7000 individuals. 14 times more creatures in the first episode. A horde of bodies with a density as Chuck is literally submerged. Not one square meter of open space is fully occupied by ghosts. The engine limits have been reached? Not quite for us and prove it, Chuck enforcer a motorbike to hell: the Chainsaw Bike. It's actually a bike on which were fixed two sections, one on each handlebar grip. Spinning any Berzelius in the heart of the crowd , Chuck buck at any cost, leaving dismembered carcass on its way. A moment of madness that will leave the visual assembly totally hilarious.

Very focused, this first presentation of Dead Rising 2 was for any purpose other than to offer the press an overview of the opportunities offered by the game engine. 7000 zombies on screen viewing, a much more detailed modeling of heroes and ghosts, a physics which is still crazy but worked much more, this second component appears on course to expand the arguments of his predecessor. But what about the gameplay? With the replacement of Frank West and his camera, what is the little more of this episode? No information of that side, except that Chuck should be characterized in another way and with very different talents. At a session of questions and answers we have also learned that the backup system without being completely Chambard, should be greatly improved. Time management will again be at the center of the adventure because it will take place over 72 hours. Finally the survivors will be back in the game. Anything that was the first success is already planned ... we must now hope that the experience does not défouloir primary .

    Re: Dead Rising 2 (Preview)

I enjoyed while playing this game. Dead Rising 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to Dead Rising. Start up the slaughter again in Fortune City, with a whole new host of objects to butcher the zombie horde with. Dead Rising 2 is available for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC and developed by Capcom.
