Left 4 dead freezing while playing

Ok, so I can run left4dead, but at times, the game will skip/freeze. any ideas why? here are my computer specs:

Windows XP Home edition(5.1 Build 2600

Amd Dual Core Processor

3Mb Of Ram

Nvidia GeForce 6600(512Mb)

Realtek hd audio output

550gb hard drive.

And yes, before you all ask, I do have all the latest drivers installed. Thanks for the help.

check for direct x version update it also check also check for proper video driver update ...

Are you sure you use such high configuration for a low spec game like Left4Dead? I guess that is where the problem is. Well i have never heard about 550GB hard disk. May be its 500GB. Also please have mercy on the computer and upgrade your memory. Well which OS do you use? DOS? Windows doesn't run with so much RAM...

I didn't mean to offend you but it must be 3GB and not 3MB... Well your drivers must not be working properly. If you have update your driver, rollback to a different version which is stable... All the best!

Change the setting in configuration profile,,, Run the game in low quality graphic. Or you can try to play in minimum settings .
