Gamers who are itching to get their WWII action-strategy addiction going can rest easy with a free hit of Battlestations Pacific. The newly bought out publisher Eidos has just announced that a demo of their upcoming title will be released on Thursday, April 30, The game will be released via Microsoft's Games For Windows Live client.
The demo will contain a full single player mission from the US campaign which will put the player " . . into the thick of the action with a Kamikaze attack on a US carrier fleet." In additon two of the game's multiplayer modes, Island Capture and Siege, will be made available in the demo. Both can be played online as well as in an offline Skirmish mode.
We still have no idea of its size, but there is talk of proposing a mission of the American campaign solo. The player must first protect the fleet against attack by suicide bombers. Then it is to fly out of the defenses of an island close before launching a large-scale attack against a powerful Japanese battleship.
This solo part is only one aspect of the playable demo that should also offer a preview of the multiplayer. Two of the five game modes are actually available through skirmish maps ... Of course, our host server download as soon as possible the PC playable demo.
